For Fall and Spring seasons our games are SATURDAY's your assignor will typically assign games a full week in advance - to get the best assignments we suggest you setup your availability two weeks in advance. Here's a comprehensive guide:

During the course of your referee career you will most likely referee in many different leagues and tournaments. Each one will have their slight variation on FIFA procedures' and laws/rules, knowing these details will help you perform to your best ability.

TEAM CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

For Roots Athletic Center (RAC) games do NOT require roster check-ins. Just conduct a basic safety check,

However, Roots Soccer League (RSL) games REQUIRE referee to check-in teams and scrutinize rosters prior to EVERY game no matter the age group. This process is very simple but vitally important. Here's the steps you should complete prior to kick off:

Check anyone on the Coaches sideline are wearing ID cards (example below)
Ask Team One for TWO gameday rosters (example below)
Ask Coach to line players up and tell them to step forward when their name is called
Check their shirt number matches their name
Any guest players should be hand written into both copies of the roster
Check players are properly equipped
Repeat with Team Two.
You keep a copy of each teams roster - IMPORTANT, then give each team their oppositions roster.

ASSIGNOR / emergency contact

Call your assignor if you:

... are running late to your game
... are sick/ill/injured (the earlier the notification the better)
... issue a red card at a game
... have received ANY abuse or something went wrong at your game

If you are under 18 please remember any texts or emails to your assignor you must include an adult. Keep yourself and your assignor safe!

IMPORTANT DATES

Roots Soccer League - Town/Travel Fall Seasons
Opening Weekend = the first Saturday after LABOR DAY weekend
Duration = 9 weeks (games are Saturday's with a small amount of weekday games)

RAC Westfield - Winter Indoor 7v7 League Seasons
Adult Divisions Mon-Wed, High School Friday's and Youth Saturday's and Sunday's
Duration - 18-21 weeks (Season starts third week in November through to April Vacation)

Roots Soccer League - Town/Travel Spring Seasons
Opening Weekend = the Saturday directly after APRIL VACATION
Duration = 8 weeks (several games Monday-Friday, with the majority on Saturday's)
